Horsington man guilty of treason Arthur Thistlewood
The Cato Street Conspiracy was a plot to murder all the British cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister Lord Liverpool in 1820. The name comes from the meeting place near Edgware Road in London.
Horsington born Arthur Thistlewood (1774–1 May 1820) was a radical activist and conspirator. who led a plot to murder the cabinet, but there was a spy and he was apprehended with 12 other conspirators, who had killed a policeman during the raid. Five conspirators were executed, and five others were transported to Australia.
