Full Description

44468 This little tower mill was built in 1813 and worked until early in the last century. It had been reduced to a stump by 1923 and now stands as a single storeyed stump, roofed over with corrugated iron sheeting. It had four patent sails but the number of stones driven is unknown. The brickwork is of rather poor quality and the walls are only one and a half bricks (14 inches) thick, even at ground floor level. {1}

This mill is now completely gone except for a mill stone which is preserved in the garden of "The Old Bakehouse" off Main Street. The mill was alongside the original bakehouse and was sometimes described as being part of Manor Farm, Main Street. It had five floors and four sails.
