The Story of Farming in Stixwould - 1965

Newstead Farm Stixwould is an old Elizabethan residence located adjacent to the site of the former Stixwould Priory. At 560 acres it was larger farm than many in 1965. The farm crop map for that year shows wheat, barley, potatoes and sugar beet were planted and the farm was complimented by cattle, sheep, pigs and turkeys.

This diary was compiled as part of a Women's Institute project - the author(s) are unknown but probably were the farmers wife and daughter.
